We come together as servants
of our Lord Jesus Christ:
To worship openly and joyously,
To share fellowship with each other as the body of Christ,
To bear witness to the word of our maturing faith in God and His salvation
in Christ.
We seek together to love
the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We minister
in Christ's name to believer and non-believer because our Lord gave us
the charge to love our neighbors as ourselves.
It is with great joy that
we welcome you to worship with us. Our sincere hope is that you will experience
the presence of God with us and that you will discover our community to
be a welcoming and encouraging one. May God bless you.
What
can you expect with First Baptist?
Worship
- At First Baptist, we put great energy into worship.
We strive for excellence in all we do because it is not for us but for
God. We believe strongly in our unique, God-given identity to embrace
the best of our worship traditions while at the same time exploring
the best of what is new and innovative in worship.
Discipleship
- At First Baptist, we focus upon making genuine
disciples of Jesus Christ. Whether you are new in your faith or have
walked with Jesus for many years, we concern ourselves with the spiritual
growth and maturity of the Christian church. We focus upon study and
service, and we anticipate every Christian using his/her gifts in the
overall ministry of the Church. As a church we are seeking continually
to grow in the practice prayer, which undergirds every effort of the
community.
Testimony
- We are striving to follow God's call faithfully
into the mission and ministry endeavors for which God has prepared us.
We serve locally, in our state and nation, and outside our national
borders. Currently, FBC has an ongoing relationship with a sister church
in Venezuela where we go on mission trips annually as circumstances
there allow us. Our hope is to see God open other doors for increased
opportunities as we become a people who live and breathe missions and
ministry.
- The
Love of Family
- As sons
and daughters of our heavenly Father, we seek to live as family. We
intend to live before the world as a community of love, faith, reconciliation,
and understanding, always showing the vitality of the Holy Spirit that
indwells God's people. To say it biblically, we seek to be the body
of Christ in the world.
